Metrodome: May 14, 2006 The captain's official game account: The Saint Croix Base Ball Club brought their brand of 1860 base ball
indoors to the Metrodome on Sunday May 14th when they the Quicksteps,
put on a 20-minute exhibition on how base ball was played back in 1860.
The crowd of over 20,000 people enjoyed the event and baseball
historian and author Stew Thornley narrated the action. Members of each
club were able to strike at home plate and then take the field. The Twins-White Sox game then followed the vintage base ball exhibition. |
